A Big Thank You

Yorkshire Under-1850 captain Rupert Jones has sent out the following message to his players following the ECF County Championship Semi-Finals.

Hi Everyone,

So it wasn't to be....

We were knocked out 10-6 on Saturday by the form team of the season.

A very big thankyou to everyone who has played for us this season.  We did play the form team of the year (and without any juniors).  They did knock out Surrey, Essex and Middlesex.

I really appreciated everyone's efforts right through the season.  It was a top effort from everyone.  Ironically, we would have played Greater Manchester in the final.  This has been the best season for player availability in the national stages even for the 11th May we ended up with over 20 available.  Over the season we probably used over 25 players.  I have you all to thank for this.  This has also meant leaving players out however which is never easy.  However, this does mean that when you play for Yorkshire then you have earned your cap as it were.  The venues have also generally run very smoothly.  It also helps having Jonathan Arnott in Sheffield and Steve Westmoreland in Holmfirth.  Thank you to Jonathan and Steve.

Again thank you very much.  Finally, congratulations to our under 1650's who won through to the final for the second year running.
