Dear All
As promised and
following consultation with the YCA committee I have provisionally
scheduled the Yorkshire League dates for next season which can be seen in
the attached document. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING THREE IMPORTANT POINTS
1. The
attached is a working document that shows what I have had to schedule
around. It is NOT a definitive program of events so please do not contact
me to request any additions - once the dates are firmed up the document has
served its purpose.
2. The AGM
(24th June, West Riding Pub, Leeds) will have the final say as to the exact
dates and in previous years changes have been made.
3. The 4NCL
have not yet published their league dates for next season. I have very
kindly been given sight of these by Mike Truran but I have agreed to redact
them from the public document.
Two events are not
yet confirmed. Blackpool is anybody's guess but I have assumed the same
weekend as last year for now. Doncaster is normally on the last weekend to
fall fully in February so I have assumed this for next year.
There are two new
events next year; Sheffield Congress is back and there is a new Yorkshire
Rapidplay filling the slot vacated by the old British Rapidplay. This event
was of course taken on by the 4NCL and will be held in Bingley again next
year, this time in March. We also have a March Easter next year.
This means that we
have two fixtures in successive weekends in October which isn't ideal; the
only alternative would be to play on the weekend before Christmas which
would probably be even less popular.
Finally can I
remind you that there is a deadline of 3rd June for teams to decline
promotion should they wish (one club has already contacted me and needs to
take no action) and 17th June for notice of withdrawals and or any more
clubs/ teams wishing to enter.
