White Rose Junior Chess Academy

Peter Cloudsdale has announced that he has decided to reduce junior chess activities, and has wound up the White Rose Junior Chess Academy, with a cheque for the money in its coffers, £116.50, being sent to John Hipshon to support the Yorkshire Junior Chess Association.

Peter is of course “getting on”, and the impact of Covid has prevented and still hampers the running of training sessions, so the decision is not wholly surprising.  People in York are hoping he will continue to assist with junior chess there.

Some immediate responses on hearing of the decision:

“Thank you very much for running these sessions over the years.  My children have loved going.”

“Thanks for everything you do.  Hoping you will be able to kick-start the junior club with me and others on the 8th September.  . . . . .  we have strength and depth in York junior chess much thanks to your work over the years.”

“Many thanks Peter.”
