Progress with ECF Grading Submissions from Leagues &c

Submissions for ECF grading of data entered into the ECF's League Management System, for inclusion in the January 2019 ECF mid-season grading list, is reaching the finishing post, being about 90% complete.

Hull and Sheffield are using their own internal ECF Graders to check, correct and send off data to the ECF.  Other leagues have enlisted the assistance of myself, as “YCA Grader”.

The ECF's cut-off for receiving data is 14/01/2019, but my own cut-off will have to be 11/01/2019 at the latest, to allow time for resolution of queries.

Progress to date is as follows (final update - now complete):

Grading files extracted from LMS are normally “valid” in that the ECF grading system will accept them, but are only as “correct” as the data entered.  The main problem stems from league secretaries spelling names incorrectly so that an existing player is not matched to his or her identity on the grading system, which if not corrected would result in a “new” player being created on the ECF system.  This is the sort of thing which the ECF Grader processing the submission is looking out for and correcting.
