NCCU Club Championship

 

The Northern Counties Chess Union is looking for more clubs to enter its Club Championship.

 

Teams are of 4 players.  There are four sections:

 

Open:

No grade or age restrictions

Major:

Total of grades not over 680, and average of top 2 boards not over 180.

Minor:

Total of grades not over 520, and average of top 2 boards not over 140.

Seniors:

Average age at least 55, and minimum individual age 35.

 

Rate of play is 40 moves in 90 minutes, followed by 30 minutes ďAllegroĒ finish.

 

Players must be ECF members, and itís latest ECF grades, of course, which count.

 

Entry fee is £10 per team, except that for a third team itís £5, and for a team containing three juniors entry is free!

 

The prize in each section is an NCCU Trophy and a Digital Clock.

A 35 minimum age in the Seniors was added in June 2017 for 2017-18.

 

A flier is expected to be sent out in September, whereafter it will be possible to enter.
