The new season of
NCCU inter-county matches got to a start with four matches being played on
Saturday 26th November 2022.

Cheshire & NW and
Durham continue not to be represented, but Cleveland and Merseyside have each
entered a team after having been missing from the line-up for some
years. New member county Greater Manchester appears of course for the
first time. On the other hand, Lancashire has not been able to organise
teams after the stepping down of Bill O’Rourke.
On Saturday
26/11/2022, Yorkshire met Greater Manchester at Under 2050, Under 1650 and
Under 1450 levels, at Swinton Legion, Cheetham Rd, Swinton, Manchester, with
the results given below.
As there are only 2
teams in the Under-1650 and Under-1450 sections, Yorkshire, as NCCU winner in
each case, earns the right to progress to the English County Championships as
NCCU nominee number 1. (Usually, nominee 1 initially gets a more-probably
easier pairing than nominee 2.) The Under 2050 team has another two
matches before its fate is determined.
