ECF U-2050 Quarter Final

Yorkshire U-2050 played Essex over 16 boards on Saturday 21st May at Syston.  According to the event controller, the match was closer than the score suggests.

Captain Dave Patrick reports:

A really competitive match which didn’t really reflect in the score.  Yorks were 2 up going into the last few games and think lost last 5 or 6 games in play.  A big thanks to all who played, especially Robert C and Viv who both came in on Friday and did well.  I’ll be standing down from role of captain.  I’m not playing well enough to justify my place at moment, although hopefully will do better next year. (Am available for selection if required).  Happy to help with getting players etc just think it’s a job that should be rotated every season.  I can give people my contact list.  It’s been good getting players from Hull, York, Sheffield, Leeds, etc.  Hubs are the way to go.

I think Essex could be the team to beat.  To be honest, a 1938 average is outstanding in a 2050 limit.
