4NCL On-Line Season 4, Semi-Finals
Three Yorkshire-based teams had reached the semi-finals. In Division 1 Chessable White Rose 1 & 2 were playing, and in Division 4 there was Eagle & Child of York.
Chessable White Rose 2, playing Guildford Young Guns, were significantly out-rated on all boards except board 2, where Tim Wall was only slightly out-rated and he rose to the occasion by winning with Black, though the team bowed out. (It is mildly amusing to see Mark Hebden playing as a “young gun”!)
Chessable White Rose 1, however, had a relatively comfortable time of it, winning 3½-½ against Brentwood A, so progressing to the final, scheduled for 14th December, where they are to meet Guildford Young Guns.
Meanwhile, Eagle & Child of York turned in another 4-0 win and so progressed to the Division 4 final, where they meet Ashfield Anonymous C.
