NCCU U-180: Yorkshire v Lancashire

When a date used to be fixed for the Annual 100ish-board Match between the Sheffield & District Chess Association and the Sheffield & District Works Chess League, care had to be taken to ensure that the selected date did not clash with the date set for any FA Cup replay occasioned by a drawn match in the FA Cup Final.  Such a clash had the effect of decimating the chess teams on the night.

This season, Yorkshire's U-180 captain ill-advisedly attempted to arrange a match versus Lancashire on Sunday 11/11/2018, which was a 4NCL weekend.  Whilst U-120 players were available for a county match (see here), most potential U-180 players were engaged in the first weekend of the 4NCL (see here).

Accordingly, only four players could be raised for the 16-board team, and one of those withdrew after realising he was double-booked with the 4NCL event!  Thus Yorkshire ended up conceding the match!
